Hoppity, Hop!

Finally, it's reveal day! I've had so much fun participating in the blog hop, and I can't wait to participate in the next one as well. Lorelei sent me a fabulous collection of beads - What luck to get some an awesome partner!

Here's what I got:

Fiber - Silk Ribbon
         - Silk Cording
         - Fluffy Ribbon
         - Waxed Linen in 2 colours

Strands - Czech Glass Coins
             - Wood Tubes
             - Wood Rondelles

Headpins - Lampwork Headpins from KelleysBeads

Pewter - Mamacita Beadworks

Ceramic - Charm pair, shards - Marsha Neal Studio
              - Large pendant - Round Rabbit Extra
              - Bird & Egg - Summer Studios
              - Dotted Round, Connector - Gaea

I'll admit, the fibers stumped me for a bit, as I've never used any sort of fibers before really. They are so much fun to work with! I've now got quite a list on my must buy one day list ...which is far too long as it is. :-)

I've accented the pewter clasp above with nailpolish and metalFX - I wrote a bit about the process in an inspiration I did for beadFX. You can't really tell in the picture above, but I used wild lime metalFX to match the connector from Gaea. ...And the bird - Awesome!!!

My favourite earrings!!!

Ok, the leather was a huge struggle. Lol... My sewing skills are pretty pathetic. Snort. The bracelet looks great on, but most certainly will never be sold ;-)

I love using button closures for bracelets, and the handmade headpin really added a nice pop of colour.

I actually squealed in delight when I saw this pendant. I've long, long been admiring the beads and components @ round rabbit. This necklace is quite long - I used the entire length of the silk. It's just tied into a small bow at the back.

Thank you Lorelei again for being such an amazing partner, and of course a huge shout out to Lori for organizing this whole thing!

Hostess, Lori Anderson

Hi Jennifer!! First, I hope your birthday was fantastic this week!
I am happy that you were able to finish so many pieces with your soup I sent you!
I love that altered that dragonfly toggle- I wish I could get a better look at the finish! Each piece is so fun! Good job working with the fibers! I knew you would love it once you got going. I know that you'll probably work more with them in the future! The bracelet with the suede came out cute!
I can't wait for you to see my pieces today. Have fun hopping! And thanks for being a super partner! xoxo

In spite of being intimidated by the fiber components, you managed to overcome your fear and create some wonderful pieces. I used fiber (organza ribbon) for the first time in one of my bead soup pieces too.

With Lorelei as a partner, you were going to get awesome stuff (like Round Rabbit)! Aren't fibers the best? Everything you made is super cute - I love the bird necklace best. That is really cool that you altered the clasp. The square earrings look like little perfume bottles :) Excellent work!

You got a lot of amazing pieces from your soup! The bird necklace is just darling. I do wish I could see the treatment you gave the metal a bit better. The earrings are so clever and I had to laugh about your leather adventure. I can't sew at all, so great job for going for it! I would love to do that. Everything is fabulous!

So hard to decide which piece of yours I like best - you totally rocked the beads Lorelei sent you. But that first necklace is darling - who would have thought to use the connector as a pendant/dangle? Beautiful, beautiful work! And hey, that leather bracelet turned out fine!

Beautiful pieces! My favorite is that first piece with the sweet clasp and the darling bird/flower focal. I've never been able to get fiber to work in my designs, but I love how you used it in this piece.

Beautiful pieces. I am tickled that you can laugh at yourself about the flops. I have those too and sometimes we can learn more from our flops than our successes. It is a cute bracelet in any event. Great job!

All your pieces were really, really pretty, but I especially liked the first necklace. And you did a great job with adding the fiber to all of them. :)
